On Thanksgiving Day a very dear friend of mine married the man of her dreams. Since I was otherwise occupied during the toast I did not get to give mine, so I thought I would give it here. It's a few months late, but better than never.

Kristin there are no words to describe our friendship and what it has meant to me. I am so glad that I introduced myself on the first day of 9th grade because I can not imagine the years that have gone by without your friendship. I am so happy for you and excited to see where this adventure called marriage takes you. I know, that like everything you do, you will give it your all.

Charlie, you are a lucky, lucky man, but I am sure you know that. While I haven't gotten the chance to know you very well, I know that you love Kristin and that is all that really matters. I am a little mad at you for taking her so far away. However that is not something that time and a whole lot of chocolate covered macadamia nuts won't fix.

I am so excited for you two and wish you the best. May you wake up every day and choose to love.

She is sweet as sweet can be. She loves to pick flowers, but this is a huge no no at home. She is a daddy's girl through and through. She is going to have a younger sibling any day. Whether she'll have a little brother or little sister is a surprise. I could have spent hours photographing her, but she has as much patience for being in front of the camera as I do and it started pouring down rain. As in a drench you to the skin kind of rain. I was so excited when Nate's mom said that he played the tuba. It's one of those fun quirky things that make life interesting. His first session was rained out, but he braved the rain just long enough for me to get one super awesome picture. Lucky for us take two was a beautiful day, no rain in sight. Recently I bought and read through the book "Circus Circus" by Kristen Kalp . It is probably on of the best investments I have made this year (other than my new camera of course, it's a close second though:).

I was talking to one of my photographer friends and neighbor the other day about how I felt like I loose my voice and personality when it comes to my blog and my website. I used to feel like I always had something creative and witty to say and then I had kids and that part of my brain died (I heard of things like this happening, but never thought it could happen to me). Now I am at a loss when it comes to writing creativeness. It's just so blah and boring and meh.

Well not anymore. "Circus Circus" has helped me do a 180 ( or at least a 90, I still have kids you know). The evidence is not visible yet but it will be soon. I am just adding the finishing touches and taking a deep breath before I unleash this utter creativeness on the world (or at least my blog and website).

I can't say enough about this book. It was a fun and easy read. The step be step instructions are awesome and the fill in the blank answer really get you thinking. So if your writing needs a little more pep and a little more you, head on over to the Brand Camp blog and check all the amazingness that Kristen has to offer. You won't regret it and you might find that your creative voice didn't die when you had kids.
